Happy Birthday Nonna!

Today is a very special day! It’s Nonna’s birthday. Although, I know her better as ‘mom’. And, wow, where do I start with her? She is the perfect definition of a mom (and a wife, and a Nonna, and I could go on...). She always knows how to make me feel better about anything. And when I’m having a bad day, or terribly stressed, I just feel a need to talk to her about it. I hate that I do that, because I never want her to be stressed, but it seems despite my best intentions, I end up on the phone with her, in tears, because she is the one who just makes me feel like everything will work out. And it always does :) She is who I want when I’m sick. I always think, if only mom was here I’d be better!
Of course, she’s as wonderful a Nonna, as she is a mama! Avery adores her, as you could imagine. And even before Avery, during the first pregnancy, she was amazing. She was my rock. I remember that first night, after the surgery, she just laid by me and held me, as if I were still 3 and crying over a skinned knee. I knew her heart was breaking double - for me and for the grandchild she would never meet. On the day we found out so quickly that we would be having a tiny baby way too early, as I melted down, she stood strong. She told me it was going to be okay. Maybe she didn’t even fully believe it herself, but she convinced me. But you know what? I’d bet she did believe it. Her faith is amazing. I have no idea where I’d be today if she hadn’t raised me in the Christian home that I believe is so important.
I thank God for the day she was born. I thank God for her every day.
Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

That is so sweet, Casey! Your mom has always been the sweetest, most loyal friend I could have. And, in your case, the apple does not fall far from the tree. I told your dad Tuesday that they did a great job raising you--- you were really sweet to Larry and went way beyond the call of duty. Your mom has always been a blessing in my life and you are, too. =)
Love the last picture! How did you get Josh to wear the Mickey ears?! lol
