A New Tradition- Curry's Farm

This year, we went to Curry Farms to get a Christmas Tree. I remember going to Christmas tree farms when I was little with my family and it was so much fun. I want Avery to have those same memories. If you are in this area and haven't been to Curry Farms - you are missing out! It's a short drive from the city and there is SO much to do for kids! Avery had a BLAST and cried big alligator tears when it was time to go. She was also convinced that the 'real Santa' was our tractor driver. Can't say I blame her! Her favorite part, hands down, was feeding the goats. She still talks about that every day and she LOVED them. Charlie thinks a goat would be the perfect pet for us. Can you tell he was raised in the country? HAAA!

Cinderella & Snow White

As you may know, we discovered last year that we are just NOT dog people. And Charlie is allergic to cats. So the closest thing I figured Avery could have to a 'pet' would be goldfish. She loved picking them out and named them all by herself: Cinderella and Snow White! Perfect!

As they got bigger, Snow White was being very aggressive towards Cinderella. One night I stood over the fish bowl with Avery to try to make Snow White behave. I think it was stressing both of us out. I decided Snow White needed to go into time out. Charlie said I was crazy. While I was looking for another bowl for Snow White, I heard a flush. Charlie had taken care of our little problem! We are PETA's worst nightmare!

Best Behavior

The one Sunday I gave Avery candy before church, she was on her best behavior! Maybe I should try that again?

Raise em RIGHT

As you probably already know, one thing I am very passionate about is politics. We are very much on the RIGHT side of the line. So, Nov. 2nd was a happy day in our house! Avery already loves to vote and I pray she will grow up to embrace our conservative values. Go GOP Go! Beck 2012?

Wordless Wednesday

Balloon Races 2010

We enjoyed the Balloon Races this year. Avery was a bit scared of the balloons but enjoyed the fair. She got sick on the last day so we had to leave a little earlier and didn't get to see the races. However, she did get to ride her first horse - Scooter - with Nonna and loved.every.minute! 

Yellow Bike!

Avery decided she wanted a yellow bike. She woke up every day talking about her yellow bike. Lucky for us, a family friend saw this on Facebook and had the perfect bike in her storage. Her older girls had outgrown it. Avery loves her bike and although she hasn't figured out the pedaling part, she is on her way!

Trick or Trunk

This was Avery's first year to dress up for Halloween. And boy was I disappointed! We went to trick or trunk (or whatever) at our church but there were a MILLION people there! Avery FINALLY got 2 pieces of candy and after walking around for a while we found 'the line'. It was INSANE and a 2 yr old does not understand how to wait in a line for hours. Plus, I was sure there was no way they'd have candy by the time we got to the front. So, we left! Avery didn't seem upset about leaving. It was total chaos anyway. Luckily, she got a bucket full of treats, thanks to Target! ;)

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wondeful Thanksgiving with LOTS of yummy food, thanks to Nonna! After we ate, we went to Charlie's grandma's house to visit his family. Avery loves playing with her cousins! Carousel

Avery LOVES the carousel! Our mall has a new one so it works as a great tool to bribe her to be a good girl (usually!). So if she can ride in the stroller long enough for us to get a little shopping done then she is rewarded with a ride! She usually wants dada to go with her but sometimes she lets me! :)
