Early Mornings

On Saturday Avery woke up at 5:45. There was no getting her back to sleep. So, I figured - if ya can't  beat em, join em! I started making pancakes and bacon. Charlie had to work so I figured I might as well send him off with a good breakfast. I thought I had it all together whipping up a meal and entertaining Avery at the crack of dawn on a Saturday.... that is until I sat down to eat and heard some strange sounds and smells coming from the kitchen. I went to the kitchen and it looked like the coffee had imploded. Apparently, you really do have to remember to use the filter, or things just don't go as  planned. Moral of the story: drink the coffee BEFORE you do anything else, especially if you wake up before 6 am!

Don't feel bad I have done the same thing, and it is not fun cleaning it up either. I am glad to know somebody else has this!!!

Ha ha ha, I had a little ordeal with Jeremy's espresso maker this morning...it is bad when you husband offers to wake up at 6 to make you coffee cause you suck at operating the thing. Oh and thanks for all the nice words and encouragement, it means so much that people care.

Been there and done that myself. Better yet, one early garage sale morning, I made a pot of coffee and then a friend of mine came in to be helpful and made one on top of mine, needless to say there was coffee everywhere when I came in the house. how does this happen? Are we that consumed? You are a good little mommy getting up and cooking breakfast and entertaining the wee one that early, great multi-tasking.

Oh, man what a mess! I left my percolator on one day (no stinking timer on it), or Larry did (IDK) and had a burned- baked on mess in the bottom of my pot. Yuck! And I gotta have a cup in the mornings or look out kindergarteners! =)
